The Venture Taranaki Lunchtime Speaker Series aims to lift the lid on the Taranaki economy, prompting discussion and debate about its future direction.
The first event in the series looked at the transformation of the regional economy from 2000 to 2009. This analysis of the 'decade of change' looked at the shifts of populations, employment and business growth and which of the region's industries performed well over the period.
It also set the bar in terms of what the region needs to do to maintain its presence on the national stage in terms of the regional population as a percentage of the national picture.
